The London based Artist Nigel Cladingboel M.A.(R.C.A) was born in East Anglia and studied at Colchester College of Art from 1970-72. Brighton College of Art from 1972-75 and the Royal College of Art - 1975-78.
Nigel has exhibited in London at the Cadogan Gallery, Cork Street Fine Art Gallery, The New Grafton Gallery, Smith’s Gallery, The Mercury Gallery and The Moreton Street Gallery. Nigel has also exhibited at The Bloxham and A.R.C galleries in London and in France at Le Salon de Pouliguen, Brittany.
Nigel’s first one-man show was in the Spring of 1985 at the Gallery Grise in Paris, followed by several shows at the Clarendon Gallery in London.
Some of Nigel Cladingboel’s work has been inspired by houses located in the towns and villages of Southern Europe. The paintings of windows, doors and weathered Stucco walls evoke the tranquility of hot summer afternoons - when deserted streets and half-closed shutters take on an air of mystery.
